The Broome Community College Alumni Association is offering a $500 scholarship to a Broome County High School Senior attending BCC in 2005-06 who can demonstrate academic excellence, community involvement, and extracurricular activities.

The mission of the BCC Alumni Association is to promote interest, pride, and awareness in BCC and to support the efforts of the college, students and its Foundation, while maintaining a life-long bond between the college, its students, staff, and graduates. One of the ways the Alumni Association achieves its mission is to offer a scholarship to a deserving High School senior who will be attending BCC.

The scholarship can be used for school expenses, with the objective of helping to maximize the student's ability to obtain a degree. This scholarship is intended to provide additional financial assistance - it should not replace other financial aid grants.

Criteria for the scholarship includes:

• Academic excellence - a high school average of at least 80
• Community involvement
• Extracurricular activities

Forward them to your High School Guidance Office .Each high school will chose one application to forward to the BCC Alumni Association for further consideration by April 1, 2005.

Only those applications that are complete and submitted by the deadlines will be considered. Students receiving the scholarships will be notified in Mayl 2005.
