After
the fire in 1951 which destroyed the Binghamton Armory where
State Tech was housed at the time, outpourings of gifts and
support from other colleges arrived in Binghamton. |
| 1960's |

In May
1968, the new library opened to students. The senior class
recommended naming the facility for President Tyrrell (an event
which took place a few years later.) A student demonstration
is held, protesting a too early closing of the Library. |
| 1970's |
 |
In 1971,
construction began on a building to house business classes
and computer operations. While the campus grew, students worked
around the mud and construction inconveniences. |

made his third visit to BCC in 1973. |

The Campus
Quad turns into beach front property for the Spring Picnic
in 1977: frisbees, cutoffs, burgers, music and no classes. |
| 1980's |

In 1980,
Coach Dick Baldwin broke the record for the most career victories
ever by a two-year basketball coach. He became the coach with
the most wins of any active college coach at either two- or
four-year colleges. |
| 1990's |

The ribbon
cutting for the new $10 million Decker Health Science Center
took place in 1997, providing modern laboratories and classrooms
for the health science majors. |
