Baseball - Brett Carter
The spring of 2002 was the first season for BCC head baseball coach Brett Carter. Prior to being appointed head coach, Carter served as junior varsity coach at Mt. Tabor College and most recently as an assistant at Vestal High School. Coach Carter, a former NJCAA All-American, brings a youthful enthusiasm as well as extensive knowledge of baseball to the Broome program.

Men's Basketball

Jim Evans - Head Coach
Coach Evans is a 1997 Chenango Valley graduate scoring more than 1300 points and collecting more than 600 rebounds in his high school career.  He attended BCC where he was a two-time NJCAA All-American averaging over 21 points and 10 rebounds per game.  He helped lead the Hornets to a 49-11 record and two MSAC championships.

After graduating from BCC, Coach Evans attended Nazareth College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.  He was a member of  Nazareth’s men’s basketball team and averaged 22 points, five rebounds and five assists per game over his two year career.  He was a two-time NCAA Division III All-American helping the Golden Flyers to a 40-15 record and a trip to the ECAC championships.  He set several Nazareth College records and is the only player to lead the Empire 8 in scoring and assists in back-to-back seasons. 

After Nazareth, Coach Evans spent three years traveling with the world famous Harlem Globetrotters, visiting over 40 countries and playing in every NBA arena.  He signed a professional contract in Denmark where he competed in the top division for CLUB SISU leading them to an 11-9 record and averaging 24 points per game.  He was named MVP of the Danish All-Star game with 32 points.

Evans earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Nazareth and currently resides in Binghamton.

Associate Coach Anthony Bucci
Coach Bucci graduated from Chenango Valley High School in 2000 after leading the varsity squad to their first Section IV championship in school history and garnering All- Metro and All-Conference honors.  He went on to attend BCC and was a two-year starter for the Hornets, helping lead them to a second place finish in the MSAC as well as earning All-Conference and All-Region honors.  Bucci went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University at Albany in 2004.  He currently resides with his wife Katie in Binghamton and is employed by the Social Security Administration.

Women's Basketball - Mike Huggler
Mike Huggler begins his sixth season as the Lady Hornets head coach. During the past five years, Coach Huggler's teams have gone 88-56, qualified for post-season play four out of five years and won the MSAC regular season title in 2005. He was named MSAC as well as Region III "Coach of the Year" for the 2004-2005 season.

Cross Country - Tom Carter
Local running legend Tom Carter serves as the BCC men's and women's cross country coach. He took over the program in 1984 after serving for several years as a voluntary assistant. Carter possesses a wealth of running knowledge and personal running experience to pass on to the BCC harriers.

Golf -Joe Drotar

Joe Drotar has taken over the BCC golf team for the spring of 2005. Coach Drotar's goals are straightforward--"show improvement in every match, place in the Regionals and qualify as a team for the NJCAA Nationals." Coach Drotar is optimistic these goals can be achieved. Prior to his appointment to the golf team, Drotar was head coach of BCC's ice hockey team from 1998-2001. He is an Assistant Director of Financial Aid for BCC.

Ice Hockey - Patrick Collins
Patrick Collins was appointed Head Hockey Coach in the spring of 2005 after two years as Assistant Coach for BCC. Patrick has been involved in the local high school club hockey program for many years and brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to BCC hockey.

Lacrosse - Ted Hust
Ted Hust took over the reins of the BCC men's lacrosse program in the spring of 2004. In his first season as head coach, the Hornets posted a very respectable 7-5 record. Coach Hust's experience includes stints as assistant coach at Whitney Point and Chenango Forks High Schools.

Men's Soccer - John Herzing
John Herzing replaced long-time coach Al LaBarbera who retired after nine very successful years as head men's soccer coach. Herzing spent four years as Coach LaBarbera's assistant honing his coaching skills prior to his appointment as head coach. Coach Herzing's goal is to continue the winning tradition of Hornet soccer.

Women's Soccer - Bill Rich
Under head coach Bill Rich, the women's soccer program at BCC has prospered the last seven years. Since taking over in 1997, Coach Rich has developed one of the most outstanding women's soccer programs in Region III. He has coached the Lady Hornets to six MSAC championships. Coach Rich has been honored as MSAC "Coach of the Year" five times. He brings a wealth of knowledge and the ability to teach to the BCC program.

Women's Softball - Tim Brink
Since taking over in 1998, Coach Brink's tenure at the helm of BCC women's softball can only be described as awesome. The Lady Hornets have made three trips to the National tournament. In 2002 they set a school record by winning 29 straight games. In 2003 they finished in third place at the National tournament. Coach Brink's program has produced a number of All-American and many All-Region players. He stresses teamwork and fundamentals as a key to success.

Men's Tennis - Tom Carter
The BCC men's tennis team is coached by head coach Tom Carter. Carter has maintained the long and successful tradition of winning that has been a trademark to BCC tennis. Carter is a Johnson City resident and long-time Broome County athlete. He also serves as BCC's cross country coach.

Women's Tennis - Colin Crawford

Volleyball - Dawn Sculley
In the fall of 2004, Dawn Sculley, began her ninth season as head coach of the Lady Hornets volleyball team. Sculley is a BCC alumnus. She also played at Binghamton University and is still active in local volleyball club play. Her teams are always well coached in the mechanics and fundamentals of good volleyball. Coach Sculley's team won their first MSAC championship in the fall of 2001 and repeated in 2002.
