About Us…who we are

The BCC Foundation is the oldest community college foundation in the state.  First established by BCC Trustees, campus and community leaders in 1953 as the Student Aid Association, in 1965 this group was formally incorporated as a 501© (3) not-for-profit corporation in New York State.

Today, more than eighty community volunteers, including a Board of twenty-five, with a staff of 6 comprise the Foundation.  While offices are located on campus, the Foundation itself is self-supporting.  We are committed to helping BCC carry out its mission and strategic plans, ensuring student success, and enhancing our community.  In fulfilling our mission, The Foundation has a long-term perspective, balancing campus needs of today and those of the future.

The Foundation has won recognition statewide (SUNY) and nationally (CASE) for our programming, communications, and fund-raising success.  We have achieved record-breaking fund raising, doubling alumni support and nearly tripling our assets in the last 15 years—maintaining our rank as the best endowed NYS community college.
