My resumé
Born 31 December 1945, I grew up in the little town of State College, Pennsylvania. I earned a bachelor's degree in physics in 1966 at the Pennsylvania State University and a master's degree in 1969 at Cornell University. I have been teaching since 1966, at Penn State and Cornell, at Genesee Community College in Batavia, New York, from 1969 to 1981, and since 1981 at Broome Community College in Binghamton, New York. I have taught preparatory physics, technical physics, college physics, engineering physics, and astronomy. I originated a course in musical acoustics, and a course in energy which I twice carried to inmate students at a maximum-security prison. I enjoy bicycling and calligraphy. I am married, with a daughter and a son.

Student scores in PHS 113 Astronomy, section 1,
as of of December 20, 2003. One line in the table applies to you if you
are a student in this course. Find your secret code number in the first
column. The second column shows your score out of 100 on the last exam
you took. The third column shows your total score out of 595 points. Letter
grades are assigned according to this 'curve': Of 595 points, 535-595 =
A, 512-534 = A-, 489-511 = B+, 466-488 = B, 443-465 = B-, 421-442 = C+,
397-420 = C, 374-396 = C-, 305-373 = D, 0-304 = F.
