Requesting an SLN Username
and Password

Instructions for students new to the SLN system

Students who have never taken an SLN course before must first set up an SLN username and password through the SLN website: http://sln.suny.edu/

NOTE: You must be sure to officially register for your online course through BCC in addition to requesting a password and access to your course through SLN.

Also note that BCC SLN online courses are referred to as "SLN Classic" on the SLN website. BCC students should NOT try to access those courses designated as "SLN ANGEL".

1. Navigate to the SLN website at: http://sln.suny.edu/

 

 

 

2. Click on the link for Students.


3. If you are new to the SLN system, you must first create an account.  To begin the account creation process, click on the “here" link at the bottom of the screen.


 4. A screen will appear letting you know whether or not your system passed.  If it did, click the “Yes, Create Account” button.

5. The next screen will allow you to select the type of course you are taking and your school.  In the top area, place a checkmark to select “SLN” as the course type.


6. In the college section, put a checkmark next to “Broome Community College

7. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click the Continue button.



8. Confirm that you have completed the first three tasks by putting checkmarks in the boxes.


9. Also be sure to put a checkmark next to ALL SLN courses you are registered for.

10. Scroll down and follow the instructions on the form being sure to fill out all fields completely.


11. When done, click the Create Account button at the bottom of the screen.  Once your information is submitted you will receive a confirmation message.

Note:  It often takes up to an hour for the account to be created and your courses to appear in the SLN Commons

 

  Once your password is activated, you may access your course.
