August 23, 2007 Broome Community College -Family Day At BCC Is An Orientation for New Students- (TOWN OF DICKINSON, NY) Broome Community College with host the 12th annual “Family Day at BCC” on Saturday, August 25, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on campus. “Family Day at BCC” is an orientation for new students that will include tours, seminars, information sessions and lots of fun. “Family Day is a great opportunity for new students to familiarize themselves with the campus and prepare for their academic careers at BCC,” said Dr. Rebecca Ashford, Vice President of Student Affairs. “Attending College for the first time can be a bit nerve racking for first time students and parents alike, so we also have a variety of information available for parents who are sending their child to College for the first time.” The schedule of events will be as follows: 9:30 a.m. Opening Session, Welcome by BCC President Dr. Laurence Spraggs & overview by Dave Maslar, Director of Student Activities 10:00 a.m. Concurrent Sessions:
11:00 a.m. Open Campus with tours of classrooms, athletics, Ice Center and fitness center, information on financial aid and student accounts and information on ID cards, security and parking. 12:00 p.m. Picnic lunch in the student quad. This is the 12th annual Family Day at BCC. The event typically draws close to 1,000 people.
