April 26, 2007 BCC To Host Two-Year Engineering -Competition Will Attract Students From Across New York- (TOWN OF DICKINSON, NY) Broome Community College will host the Two-Year Engineering Science Association Annual Competition on Friday, April 27, 2007. Approximately 60 students from across New York are expected to attend. Participating community colleges include Monroe, Jefferson, Dutchess and Ulster. The primary demonstration will take place at 2:00 p.m. in the Applied Technology atrium. The competition task is for a student team to solve is to make a self contained device to drop a total of 6 ping pong balls in two cups separated by 12 feet. The competition schedule will be as follows: 12:30 to 2:00 Oral Presentations (D-201) “The engineering competition allows students to design solve problem complex problems with creative solutions,” said Professor John Gerty. The event is free and open to the public. Individuals are encouraged to come and see the solutions produced by students and those from other colleges. |
