Resources For Course Development
Here you'll find articles and links for developing and enhancing online instruction.

Getting Started
Online Course Review Guidelines Based on the Online Course Guidelines originally developed by QualityMatters.org, this rubric provides a well-researched structure for developing an online course. Available in MS Word and pdf formats.
Discussion Based On The Online Course Review We took the Online Course Review Guidelines and commented on how to apply the concepts to an online course in development. The comments are based on new pedagogical research as well as anecdotes from experienced BCC online faculty.
Designing Your Course
MERLOT:
Add Peer-Reviewed Activities and Exercises to Your Online Course
MERLOT (Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching) is a repository of peer reviewed online teaching and learning materials.

MERLOT is also an online community for instructors in the various disciplines to share ideas on implementing activities and using materials (think of it as a conference you can go to wearing pajamas). You will also find an online expert guest/speakers' bureau.

If you are looking for professional development opportunities and/or recognition by your peers, MERLOT accepts materials to be shared with the MERLOT community. Submitted materials are peer-reviewed (MERLOT is always looking for additional peer reviewers in various disciplines, too).
Open Source Open Source is defined as materials and applications that are designated as "free to use" as long as you don't try to sell them to others. Open Source is an alternative to expensive commercial (and some educational) software applications.

For example, find alternatives to: Microsoft Office, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and many more. The drawback - some applications don't come with instructions. Visit our Open Source page for more.
Copyright Issues The waters of copyright and intellectual property are murky at best. Here you will find links to some ideas on copyright and intellectual property as these laws apply to online education.
