develop methods for editing and proofreading your own writing
-
learn how and when to cite sources
How Can I Take Advantage of The Writing Center's Services? Visit Us Early and Often!
-
Schedule appointments. Call 778-5038 or come to the LAC in L-6 to schedule appointments. Meet your tutor in The Writing Center: L-8. Most sessions are 30 minutes.
-
To insure availability of appointments, schedule several days in advance. If you see a writing tutor just before an assignment is due, you won't have enough time for revision.
-
Walk-ins are welcome if there is an open slot or a cancellation.
-
Students are permitted two appointments per course per week. However when there is high demand for appointments, we reserve the right to limit each student to no more than two appointments per week. If you face special circumstances and think you need extra appointments, contact the Writing Center Coordinator (778-5363). Visit the Writing Center often: the more often you work with a tutor, the more improvement you will notice in your writing.
-
Come prepared with anything you have regarding your assignment: the instructor's syllabus or assignment description, notes on the assignment, questions you have, and any writing you've done for the assignment.
No-shows: If you miss two appointments without giving us at least 1/2 hour prior notice, your Writing Center privileges will be suspended. |
