Instructional DesignerImmediate opening for one full-time and one part-time Instructional Designer to provide pedagogical and technical support to faculty creating courses and learning materials for distance learning. Work closely and collaboratively, teaming with faculty, BCC support staff, and members of the SUNY community assisting faculty to design, develop, test, and support computer-mediated, asynchronous instructional materials/courses; conduct workshops, demonstrations, and individual training sessions for faculty; write documentation and instructions to assist faculty in course development; track course development progress, monitor ongoing courses; and troubleshoot problems in technology and course delivery for online courses. The full-time position is tenure-track with a 12-month work year at 37.5 hours per week, with salary range of $42,174 - $53,983. The part-time position is 29 hours per week on a semester-to-semester basis at an hourly rate of $21.62. Inquiries must specify the position(s) for which the candidate is applying. Requirements: bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) with at least two yearsexperience in instructional design, educational technology, distance education, or a directly related field; knowledge of course management systems and software applications; the ability to provide support and troubleshooting for PC software problems; experience with training, staff development, and/or teaching; excellent written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills. Familiarity with a variety of course management systems including WebCT, Angel, and/or Blackboard, and experience in staff development or teaching is desirable. Occasional travel will be required.
