Our donors are people—just like you! Merit Scholarships – awards that recognize outstanding student accomplishments based on academic achievement and qualities important to the donor. Grants-in-Aid– awards that supplement federal and state aid with financial assistance to students with need, based on criteria established by the donor Things to Consider:1. What kind of student? Unrestricted gifts: are an important source of steady income that enables the Foundation to provide support for activities and projects such as grants-in-aid, merit scholarships, faculty and staff development, and special projects – they support all functions of the Foundation. Restricted gifts: are designated to a specific purpose, whether to scholarships, grants-in-aid, professional development, or a special project.
