Scholarships & Grants-in-Aid
Support educational opportunities for bright, talented students at BCC!

Because of the generosity of many donors, over 250 merit scholarships and 500 grants-in-aid are awarded to our students annually.

Our donors are people—just like you!
Thanks to community “friends”, businesses, organizations, foundations, faculty, staff, and alumni almost $500,000 is made available each year to aid and recognize BCC students through the Foundation’s grant and scholarship program.

Merit Scholarships – awards that recognize outstanding student accomplishments based on academic achievement and qualities important to the donor.

Grants-in-Aid– awards that supplement federal and state aid with financial assistance to students with need, based on criteria established by the donor

Things to Consider:

1. What kind of student?
2. How will the recipient be chosen?
3. What is the scholarship to be used for?

Unrestricted gifts: are an important source of steady income that enables the Foundation to provide support for activities and projects such as grants-in-aid, merit scholarships, faculty and staff development, and special projects – they support all functions of the Foundation.

Restricted gifts: are designated to a specific purpose, whether to scholarships, grants-in-aid, professional development, or a special project.
