The Job Placement Center offers students a full range of employment services. Our  goal is to help students bridge the gap between the classroom and the world of work. This process preferably begins with reaching out to students early in their studies to get them thinking about developing their first resume and understanding what soft skills employers desire. Students can develop a resume by clicking on the icon below and following the registration instructions. Once registered, students can use the resume builder function. Registration also allows the ability to do both local and national job searches.

Typically, our annual job fair is held on the first Thursday of April.  This event provides an outstanding opportunity to meet with employers either as seniors seeking full-time positions, or other students to discover possible internship opportunities, part-time jobs, or seasonal employment.

We invite you to stop by the Job Placement Center in Wales - 115 to pick up a copy of the "Job Search Handbook." It contains sample resumes, cover letters, and a section on the employment interview.

For your convenience, you can e-mail a draft of your resume to truillolt@sunybroome.edu, and within 48 business hours, it will be returned to you with suggestions to enhance your resume.

I have a funny cartoon in my office depicting several students at their graduation ceremony. One of them says to another, "I just heard that when this is over we all have to get jobs." Gaining employment following your college studies doesn't just happen following graduation, or even during the final weeks of your senior year. It is a developmental process that actually begins day one of your college experience.
