On behalf of all of us at Broome Community College, welcome.  Whether you are just beginning your higher educational experience or are returning to college to attain new skills, here at BCC, you will find faculty and staff committed to making your educational experience a rewarding one. Welcome also to the BCC web-site where you will find answers to many of your questions about Broome Community College.

For over sixty years, Broome Community College has been addressing the ever-changing educational needs of students from this region as well as from across New York State and around the world. At Broome, you can choose from a broad array of educational programming designed to prepare you for success as you transfer to a four year college or university or enter the workplace. Recently, BCC has been ranked number one among SUNY’s thirty community colleges for retention of students who continue their education at the four year level.  I’m confident that you too will share in the pride that so many in the college community feel about Broome’s focus on teaching and learning, innovation including the College’s affiliation with ITunes University and the success of our over 41,000 graduates.

I feel honored to be able to join this widely recognized and respected institution as Interim President. Having been a part of SUNY for forty years, I know first- hand the invaluable role that community colleges play in ensuring access to quality and affordable education and in addressing the workforce training needs of the communities we serve. Previously, I completed a thirty- five year career as a teacher, academic administrator and President at another of SUNY ‘s community colleges and feel privileged to continue to have a role in the classroom. During my stay at Broome, I look forward to working with all the members of the BCC community to ensure that the business of the College gets done and that strategic initiatives important to Broome’s future continue to move forward as new Presidential leadership is identified.

Again, welcome to BCC. I know that you will find Broome Community College to be warm, friendly and caring about you and your education.
