After BCC… then what?
The Fire Protection Technology program serves primarily people who are already employed by municipal and volunteer fire companies.

Professional fire departments accept employees from lists of those passing various municipal exams. Volunteer companies accept individuals according to their own selection criteria. Students are advised to contact a company directly.

Employment opportunities also exist in many private sector business and industrial institutions.

The program at BCC can be used as a basis for successful competition on municipal exams, volunteer fire company applications, and entry into a variety of industrial settings. Students are encouraged to meet with the Fire Protection Technology coordinator to chart programs that best meet their goals.
