First Day Of Classes At BCC Begin On
Monday; Total Enrollment Is Up 1.39%

(TOWN OF DICKINSON, NY) Broome Community College Interim President Dr. Daniel T. Hayes today highlighted that latest enrollment statistics, which show total student enrollment, is on again the rise for the Fall 2008 semester.

“The fact that enrollment continues to increase semester after semester, despite a continued population loss underscores the caliber of educational services we provide to our students and this community,” said Interim President Dr. Hayes. “BCC continues to be a top choice for area high school seniors because of the College’s strong academic programs.”

As of Monday, August 25th , enrollment for the Fall 2008 semester is 5,984. This equates to an increase of 1.39% in students compared to Fall 2007. Approximately 43% of Fall 2008 students are enrolled in Liberal Arts, with 19% studying Business and 28% in an Applied Science curriculum.   We also have 10% that are non-matriculated.

Statistics on International Student enrollment are currently being complied, but preliminary estimates show enrollment is also on the rise.
