About ISS

Welcome to International Student Services (ISS)

The international student program began in 1981. SUNY Broome Community College has a long tradition of internationalizing our campus. We have over 160 international students from over 45 countries currently at SUNY Broome.

The ISS office offers a variety of services to our international student population including:

Regulatory Assistance

  • Monitoring students' F-1 regulatory compliance
  • Assisting with immigration questions related to non-immigrant status
  • Maintaining visa student records
  • Complying with immigration regulations for the college


  • New International Student Orientation
  • Advocacy & Outreach to the campus
  • Student activities to internationalize the campus

Administrative Support

  • Maintain international student statistics (Open Doors, etc)
  • Data maintenance for college (SEVIS, etc)
  • Liaison with government agencies such as DHS, USCIS, and Consular Affairs.
