Clinical Laboratory Technician - Fast Track Program AAS
Clinical Laboratory Technician at SUNY Broome Community College is a fully-accredited, clinically-based curriculum leading to the Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree. Graduates of the program are automatically eligible to sit for New York State Licensure and national certification examinations.
There are three pathways to earn an A.A.S in Clinical Laboratory Technician; the Traditional Program, the Fast-Track Program, and the Fully-Online program. Choose the one that best fits your experiences and availability.
Fast Track Program
This accelerated “Fast Track” program allows qualifying students to earn an A.A.S. Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technician in two or three semesters. The program combines distance (on-line) learning, hospital based practicums, and traditional classroom courses. Clinical training in hospital laboratories affiliated with the program provides hands-on experience as well as excellent training for immediate employment. Admission to the fast-track program is based on seat availability.
Graduates of the CLT Program who hold MLT(ASCP) certification AND a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college/university, AND two to three years of full time acceptable clinical laboratory experience within the last ten years may be eligible for certification as a Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
