Welcome to New Student Advisement & Course Registration
Congratulations on your admission or re-admission to Broome Community College. As a new student, we know that one of your first questions is "How do I get registered for my courses?"
Once you have been accepted by the Office of Admissions, please refer to your Admission letter to determine if you are required to take the Placement Assessment. New students, without prior college-level work in English and Math, must take an assessment test in English, reading and mathematics skills. This assessment will assist us in proper course placement and if you need to take any developmental (review) courses your first semester.

Until you complete the placement assessment, you will not be able to register for classes.
The Next Step: Schedule and Attend an Advisement Session
After you have taken the placement assessment or if you have been exempt from taking it, then please follow the instructions in the following advisement chart (TBA) to schedule an advisement session:

During the advisement session, you will meet with an advisor to review your major choice, major requirements, placement assessment and other information important to your success your first semester. At the end of the advisement session, you will either register for your courses or you will be given access to the Student Registration System.
The earlier you complete these important steps, the better the availability of courses to meet your needs. New student advisement and registration begins in late April for the fall semester and in late November for the spring semester.
