Phlebotomy (Certificate)

The Phlebotomy Certificate Program at Broome Community College is designed to train students for immediate entry into hospitals clinical physicians' offices, and other heath care settings as phlebotomists, and to offer additional specialized training to practicing health care professionals who wish to upgrade their skills and become more valuable to area employers in addition it will prepares students to qualify to take national certification examinations.

The certificate program requires 28 credits for completion, all of which can be completed in two semesters if the students meet the basic entry requirements, or can take several semesters if the student must attend on a part-time basis. It includes didactic and laboratory course work and 160 hours of clinical experience in an affiliated clinical site. It is designed in such a way that most courses are applicable to other degree programs in the Health Sciences or other fields at Broome Community College.
