Student Organizations and Clubs

While academics are a priority at Broome Community College, we believe in development and community service outside the classroom. For that reason, we encourage students to participate in student clubs and organizations. Students wishing to join a club can come to a club meeting and/or contact the club advisor.

Accounting Club

Purpose: The mission of the Accounting Club is to provide the opportunity for leadership training and professional development, to serve on the campus and in the community and to encourage participation in group activities. Membership is open to all students interested in accounting.

Alpha Beta Gamma

Purpose: Alpha Beta Gamma is an International Business Honor Society established by business professors in 1970 to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year business and professional college students. The society is a member of The Association of College Honor Societies and has initiated 65,500 members. To be eligible for membership, students must have a minimum 3.00 GPA and must have earned a 3.00 GPA in business courses and you must have completed 15 credits, of which at least 12 credits apply to your degree in business.

Criminal Justice and Emergency Services Student Association (CJESSA)

Purpose: The mission of the CJESSA is to give students the opportunity to develop the "esprit de corps" necessary to succeed in the fields of criminal justice and emergency services, and to interact with professional already working in these fields. Club members achieve those goals through community service and involvement, service learning, hosting guest speakers, and hosting social activities as a group.

Hotel/Restaurant Club

Purpose: The mission of the Hotel/Restaurant Club is to develop and promote fellowship among its members and increase the presence and accessibility of the hospitality industry on and off campus through planned activities, network opportunities and community service.
