Bridge to Success

Ramp up your college success strategies this summer during our popular Bridge to Success programs.

The Summer 2013 Bridge to Success Program will be held:

Monday, June 24 - Friday, June 28

Time:  9 AM to 3 PM

Participants are required to attend every day.

Bridge to Success is an intensive pre-semester transition program for new BCC students. Students who are accepted into career and technology programs are invited to participate based on their placement assessment results in Reading Comprehension. At the end of the program, students are given the opportunity to retake their Reading Comprehension Assessment, often improving course placement, resulting in accelerated progress towards graduation. Students usually do not pay any fees for this valuable program. All academic materials are provided.

The goals of the program are:

  • To accelerate graduation requirements
  • To increase opportunities for college success
  • To improve reading comprehension by practicing active reading strategies
  • To improve test taking strategies and reduce test anxiety
  • To improve note taking skills
  • To improve critical thinking development
  • To understand how to maximize learning styles
  • To explore college life by developing personal and social skills
  • To form relationships with future classmates and begin to build your college network of friends
