International Student Ambassador Program

The International Student Ambassador Program (ISAP) is an opportunity for international students to share their culture as well as share the experiences they have gained while in the United States with their home country. This may be your opportunity to get involved with campus! The mission of ISAP is to involve current international students in the recruitment and support of BCC international students and outreach to the BCC and local community the importance of international exchange and knowledge of other cultures.

What will the International Student Ambassadors do?

Some of the activities that you may be involved in could include:

  • working with newly admitted international students,
  • assisting in recruitment in your home country,
  • volunteering at the New International Student Orientation(s),
  • assisting new students locate a place to live,
  • assisting with International Education Week,
  • participate in the International Speaker’s Bureau
  • and so much more!

What will you gain?

This experience is great for resumes for transfer colleges or jobs! You will gain leadership experience and people skills. This is an activity that you can add to your transfer application under extracurricular activities. Remember transfer schools want to see a well-rounded student – good academics and campus involvement. You will also gain the opportunity to meet new people from other countries and the US!

What are the requirements to participate in ISAP?

You must:

  • be a BCC student
  • participate in training for some activities
  • participate for minimum of one semester
  • complete at least one activity per semester – times and days will vary so we can work around your class and work commitments.

If you are interested, you will need to complete the International Student Ambassador Program application form and a photo release.
