Introduction

The purpose of this course, the first in a series of four courses, is to introduce you to the important area of computer, network, and information security. The four courses are:

1. CST 103 General Security Concepts

4. CST 210 Business Security (click here for web page)

All four courses draw upon information found in the following locations:

• The textbook SECURITY IN COMPUTING, Second Edition, by Charles P. Pfleeger. ISBN 0-13-337486-6
• Word documents, PDFs, executable code, and figures provided by the instructor.
• Web sites specializing in certain aspects of security.

This course, General Security Concepts, does not have a required laboratory, although you will perform experiments on the PC and world-wide-web designed to illustrate security techniques and applications.
