The BCC Chess Club is providing a chess experience, not just for BCC students, but also for many youth in Broome, Delaware, and Tioga Counties. The Club hosts tournaments for its satellite clubs in the BCC Chess Club's Chess League. Approximately 5 tournaments are held each year. In the fall of 2004, the League sponsored a simultaneous exhibition by Aaron Pixton, the past US Junior Champion and a student at Vestal High School. Our annual team tournament to decide which club earns the plaque was won by the Binghamton Boys & Girls Club (Saratoga Unit) in 2002, Tioga County Boys & Girls Club in 2003, Western Broome Boys & Girls Club in 2004 and 2005, Tri-Town Boys & Girls Club (Sidney) in 2007, and Schiller Street Group Home in 2008.
Here's a list of the clubs in the League with their meeting times. advisors, & coaches, and here's our schedule (as far as it is settled for the fall of 2009).
Here's a spreadsheet that you can use to maintain a rating system within your club.
