I grew up in Lansing, New York and graduated from Lansing Central School. I went on to Clarkson College of Technology, (now Clarkson University) and have a BSEE (Electrical Engineering) and the MS (Engineering Science) from Clarkson.Potsdam, NY is in Northern NY and I fondly remember walking four times a day between the dorms and the main campus down town. I especially remember those cold November rains and arriving at one end of town or another soaking wet. I managed to protect my slide rule ... that did all the really hard work.
My current interests include computers, networking, telecommunications, deck building, and acrobatic carpentry that requires the participant to create large structures without ladders and a minimum use of electricity. I've also developed a serious interest in Visual BASIC and Java Script, along with flight simulation.
I'm professionally active with both the Institute of Electrical Engineers IEEE and the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. TAC/ABET Both of these organizations seek to improve technology education for the benefit of employers, students, and the community.
I took an early retirement from BCC in 2001; since then I've taught courses on line for BCC and returned to campus as an adjunct instructor. I also inherited courses from Professor Antonakos at Excelsior College and now have students all around the world through Excelsior.edu. EET graduates can continue their education on line that way.
This page serves as a personal reference to items I use in class and other interests.
