ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF

CAMPUS SAFETY AND SECURITY

 

Immediate opening for Assistant Director of Campus Safety and Security to serve as second shift supervisor and second in command in the Director's absence, as well as coordinating college activities with the appropriate external agencies and regulatory bodies.  Duties include assisting in development and execution of procedures and schedules for such activities as hazardous waste management, safety, fire and other emergency responses, law enforcement, security, and other related areas.  Also assists in developing and delivering safety and security training and educational programs, researching technical areas and making required reports.

 

Bachelor's degree required.  Specialization in criminal justice, safety, or other functionally relevant field desirable.  Relevant work experience may substitute for degree specialization depending upon qualifications.  Five years of experience in law enforcement, physical safety or a technical, scientific, or related field required.  Two years of supervisory experience required.  The position also requires the ability to access all areas of the campus (chemical storage, confined and/or elevated areas) and to occasionally handle heavy (50 lbs) objects.  In addition to meeting the above qualifications, the Assistant Director also must meet established medical and physical training standards, possess a valid New York state driver's license and be legally able to possess a firearm in the state of New York.  Salary minimum is $42,168.
