Ordering Software with MSDNAA Software Center

Windows XP Professional System Requirements

Pentium III processor running at 300 MHz

128 MB RAM

1.5 GB hard drive space

Visual Studio.NET requirements

Visual Studio.NET requires the Windows 2000 or Windows XP operating system and about 6.5 gigabytes of free hard drive space. Your system should also have at least 128 megabytes of RAM and run at 500 Megahertz or better.  If you do not have Windows XP but your hardware is sufficient, you can reserve a copy of it using the MSDNAA SOFTWARE CENTER distribution system as well.

Getting a username and Password for the MSDNAA SOFTWARE CENTER

You will need to access your BCC email account to find an email from MSDN. This email will contain a username, password and a URL to the e-academy web site.

BCC mail

To access your BCC email from off campus, point your browser to https://webmail.sunybroome.edu and use your BCC username and BCC password to log onto the email server. From on campus, log onto http://bcctoday.sunybroome.edu.  Your username is a combination of your lastname, fist initial and possibly a number (e.g. smithd54). And your password is your six digit birth date (e.g. 01/01/79 -> 010179) unless you have changed it.

Step 1

Access your BCC email and look for an email from elms_support@e-academy.com.  This email will contain your MSDNAA SOFTWARE CENTER username and password. You will use this username and password to access the MSDNAA SOFTWARE CENTER web site that will allow you to reserve a copy of the software.

Step 2

Use the MSDNAA SOFTWARE CENTER username and password along with the URL listed in the email to access the MSDNAA SOFTWARE CENTER web site. Here you will reserve the copy of the software you wish to borrow to be picked up at my office (AT006A). You may also choose to purchase the software at a nominal cost plus shipping and the software will be delivered directly to your home. If you choose to borrow the software, you will need to bring me a current BCC student ID card that I can keep while you install the software.
