The ability to read efficiently and effectively is a key to college success. But some students find that the difficulty and volume of college reading are greater than they expected. The Reading and Study Skills Center can help you learn to read more rapidly and with greater understanding. The Center can also help you increase your vocabulary or improve your memory of what you have read. Professional tutors in the lab offer several programs and activities to help students improve their reading skills.

The Center also teaches useful techniques for working through complex assignments efficiently and confidently. You can learn skills ranging from notetaking to improving test performance.
To improve your study skills, you may choose to work with a professional tutor, or enroll in the one credit courses LRS 107 Textbook Mastery and Notetaking, and LRS 108 Study Management and Memory and Exams.
