Art exhibition by Keith Rosko: "A 20 year Retrospective." On display at the Broome Community College Library from June 1st to June 29th. Presented by BCC Library and The Artist's Connection. Featured paintings include I Miss You, Another Sunset, and Chief James Garfield Valarde. Native American imagery figures prominently in Rosko's work.

BCC's Black Student Union to Donate Portrait Of Arthur Schomburg to Library

Robin Petrus, Director of the LRC, is happy to announce that there will be a dedication of the Arthur Schomburg portrait donated by the students of the Black Student Union and their coordinator, Scott Corley to the Library. This donation came about due to the efforts and guidance of Professor Monique Simon last year. The dedication will take place February 27, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. on the second floor of the library. A reception with light refreshments will follow. All members of the campus and the community are invited to attend.

African Art Exhibit
an African mask

The Library has an historical African Art Exhibit on loan from the Bundy Museum in Binghamton, New York. The objets d'art consist of antique ancestral and ceremonial African artifacts that include sculptures and ceremonial masks. The exhibit is located in the display cases in the lobby of the library. We invite you to stop by and enjoy the exhibit that will be here during the months of January and February.

The Bundy Museum is housed in a Victorian mansion located at 129 Main Street, Binghamton, New York. For more information, refer to their Website: http://www.bundymuseum.com/location.htm
