Our mission is to meet the growing needs of the community, and by embracing and incorporating technology into our academic programs we will raise the level of education afforded to students.”

The seminar will focus on how BCC utilizes podcasting and its new iTunes U site to communicate with current and prospective students. The seminar will include topics such as: how to prepare and post content to iTunes U, how to manage your courses for iTunes U, best practices from other institutions, how iTunes U seamlessly integrates podcasting and how to use iTunes U as a learning tool for your classes.

According to Apple there are approximately 500 public and private academic institutions across the United States that have applied for and have been granted status as an iTunes U institution. BCC is one of the only Community Colleges in the nation to have the iTunes U designation. BCC was also recently notified that it will be one of 16 colleges that will be displayed on the home page of Apple’s iTunes U site. The BCC listing is scheduled to appear within the next two weeks.

iTunes U is a free, hosted service for colleges and universities that provides easy access to their educational content, including lectures and interviews, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Based on the same easy-to-use technology of the iTunes Stores, iTunes U also offers typical Apple simplicity and portability.

Through iTunes U, BCC students and community members can access a variety of BCC lectures, classes, discussions, debates, video news releases, audio and video interviews with college faculty and staff, campus life activities, arts and musical performances, and so much more.
