May 2, 2007Broome Community College To Host -Master Plans Guides Growth Of College For Next 10 Years- (TOWN OF DICKINSON, NY) Broome Community College will host a Facilities Assessment and Master Plan Meeting on Thursday, May 10, 2007. The Planning Sessions will be held in the Dining Area in the college’s Student Center Building from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm on May 10th.“The College and Community are invited to participate in workshops to help provide ideas for the development of Broome Community College’s Master Plan,” said President Dr. Laurence Spraggs. “The Master Plan will guide the growth and development of the college for the next ten years and beyond, and it’s very important we receive as much feedback as possible to ensure the plan is reflective and representative of the community’s needs.” The campus’s Master plan is the result of a compilation of information for and about the campus. It becomes the document used to drive the physical future of the campus to support its goals. The plan indicates the physical needs of the college to continue its mission and meet its objectives. It also becomes the tool used to seek funding to implement the identified projects. Facilities, athletics and recreation, parking, roads, walkways, buildings, pedestrian spaces and more are all components of the plan awaiting your input. Saratoga Associates, a Planning and Design firm specializing in Higher Education, will seek input from the campus and community as they work in an open environment to help develop concepts for the Master Plan. Help the planning team learn more about the history, culture, traditions, and needs of your campus as it relates to the context of our larger community. Bring your best ideas and sketches or create them with us throughout the day. We look forward to your participation, thoughts and ideas.
