November 13, 2007 BCC To Host Recognition Event Thursday To -Rally is Expected To Draw Hundreds- (TOWN OF DICKINSON, NY) Broome Community College President Dr. Laurence Spraggs today announced that the College will host a recognition event Thursday to honor and highlight the BCC Women’s Soccer team at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 15, 2007 in the dining hall in the Student Center on campus. On Sunday the Women's Soccer team won their final game of the season and were crowned National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Champions. “Becoming National Champions is a significant accomplishment not only for the women’s soccer team but for the entire institution,” said BCC President Dr. Laurence Spraggs. “These young women are shining example of the talent that is present at BCC. Their commitment, dedication and drive are just some of the many reasons they are members of a national championship team. We are so proud of them are their accomplishments.” The soccer team is the first team in BCC history to win a NJCAA Division III title in any sport. The event is open to the public. |
