BCC's Little Theater Players will present Molière's hilarious comedy "The Miser" opening on Friday, November 3. Live period music accompanies the production.

Jean Baptiste Poquelin, better known as Molière, was an actor, director, stage manager, and playwright in seventeenth century France, who wrote some of his best works under the protection of Louis XIV. He is best known for his great comedies of character of which "The Miser" (L'Avare) is one of the most popular. The play was first performed in 1668 at the Palais-Royal in Paris. The basic plot of "The Miser" involves a rich man named Harpagon whose strong-willed children long to escape his miserly household to marry their respective lovers.
The cast of 12 includes BCC students and actors from the community. This version of the play is an updated version of the script by David Chambers though the BCC production's setting will be 17th century France.
