"The Pink Panther Strikes Again," the play based on the classic cult film by Blake Edwards and Frank Waldman, is the spring offering of the BCC Theater Department. Performances are Friday and Saturday, MARCH 19, 20, 26 and 27 at 8:00 PM.
"BCC's production features sixteen local student actors led by Aundre Seals as Inspector Jacques Clouseau and Brian Troy as Clouseau's tortured former boss, Paul Dreyfus," said BCC theater director Katherine Bacon. "The story changes locations many times which was easy to do on film but presented a challenge in the Little Theater -- but with the creativity of a wonderful cast we turned the challenge into a plus and used the space in such a way as to capture the seamless, cinematic and entertaining flavor of the play," she said.
Originally released in 1976, "The Pink Panther Strikes Again" was the fourth in the film series that starred Peter Sellers in the role of the bumbling Inspector Jacques Clouseau. The play is filled with slapstick comedy and comical situations.
In the story, the world's clumsiest inspector fights for his life, and for that of all mankind. His long-suffering boss, Paul Dreyfus, who has been driven mad by Clouseau's undeserved success, gains access to a Doomsday machine that he threatens to use against the world unless Clouseau is killed. In his characteristically blissful state, Clouseau slips by every attack and assassin sent to destroy him.
