Signature Programs
The TRC regularly runs workshops and seminars designed to bring new ideas and tools to faculty and staff. The following signature programs are recurrent, highly interactive, and designed to help faculty and staff meeting their professional development goals.

WebCT Intensive Training
WebCT is a Course Management system for delivering courses online. The Intensive Training is divided into 4 2-hour sessions, conducted once a week for four consecutive weeks. Trainings are run twice in the fall and spring semesters and once in the summer. During the training, participants are introduced to the basic layout and tools of WebCT, as well as have opportunity for hands-on experimentation with the course management system.

For more information about the WebCT Intensive Training program, contact the TRC.
Supplement Your Course with WebCT
For faculty who would like to use WebCT tools in a face-to-face course, this two-hour workshop is designed to provide hands-on experience using the WebCT tools most often used in ground-based courses - communication, collaboration, and evaluation.

For more information about supplementing your course, contact the TRC.
WebCT Advanced
Faculty that have used WebCT over several semesters may want to "tune-up" their course and use new tools that strengthen pedagogical elements. This single-day workshop provides seasoned WebCT faculty hands-on opportunity to explore all the bells and whistles.

For more information about the Advanced WebCT program, contact the TRC.
Dreamweaver for WebCT
WebCT faculty can develop course content using Dreamweaver, a Web authoring software application, which works nicely with the WebCT course management system. This four-hour workshop introduces participants to Dreamweaver, including how-to's on uploading directly to WebCT.

For more information about Dreamweaver for WebCT seminar, contact the TRC.
BCC Leadership Academy

The Leadership Academy is a campus-wide effort to develop new leaders for BCC, by engaging select participants in activities which draw on the native talent, wisdom, and committment of potential college leaders. Academy Fellows undertake a nine-month program designed to enhance and strengthen leadership potential through a variety of activities, including bi-monthly seminars, team activities, and one-to-one meetings with administrators.

For more information about the Leadership Academy, contact the TRC.

New Faculty Orientation
For adjunct and full-time faculty starting at BCC - this session will provide you with information about student and faculty resources at BCC, tips for getting started and coping with the first day, and answer any questions you may have about teaching at BCC. Sessions run prior to the beginning of each semester.

For more information about the New Faculty Orientation, contact the TRC.
Teaching Squares
Teaching Squares is designed to improve teaching skills and build community through a structured, non-threatening process of classroom observation and shared reflection. The process involves the best aspects of peer learning – observation and discussion – while excluding judgment and evaluation. Participants typically spend seven to ten hours per semester in Teaching Squares activities.
