Automatically Receive Committee Blog Updates on Outlook

Question: I’m very interested in keeping current on the activities of a particular committee. How can I get up-to-date notifications when new posts containing minutes, agendas, recent news, etc. are available?

Answer: One way to keep current with your favorite committee is through use of RSS feeds. Simply put, RSS is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, weblogs and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS feed.

Microsoft Office 2007 users can add an RSS subscription to a folder in Outlook. Each time you check your email, you will automatically receive notification when a committee blog has been updated with a new post.

Instructions:

  1. Right click the orange RSS feed link in the bottom left hand corner of this site (or any committee site in which your interest lies).
  2. Select Copy Shortcut.
  3. Open Outlook.
  4. Right click on RSS Feeds in the Folder List of Outlook.
  5. Select Add a New RSS Feed…
  6. Press Ctrl & V keys simultaneously to paste RSS Feed location.
  7. Click Add.
